6/29 CREATING EXTRAORDINARY CULTURE FOR VIRTUAL TEAMS

In early start-ups, your team is everything. Nearly every day brings new challenges that require a scrappy, nimble, and highly motivated core team willing and ready to put in long hours and wear many different hats.
Understandably, much of the focus in these early days is around creating a product and securing resources. But this is also a great time to start setting the foundations for company culture, such as:
- how team members treat one another and expect to be treated.
- how people will communicate and collaborate with each other.
- how expectations are communicated.
- how roles and responsibilities will grow and evolve over time.
- how the team will reflect on early mistakes and failures.
Games are an excellent way to explore and create strong cultures, because they give teams a chance to practice collaborative problem solving and explore different ways of working together.
In this interactive session, the cofounders of Barometer XP will share the science behind game-based experiential learning and how they’ve used games as part of their culture development. They will also lead the group through some of their activities that can be played with in-person or virtual teams, and show how games help us learn more about each other and ourselves.
